Lon Augustenborg

Mr. Augustenborg served in the CIA’s Clandestine Service and Directorate of Operations for 35 years reaching the highest ranks of the Senior Intelligence Service. His last position was Chief of CIA’s largest domestic Station where he worked closely with the US private sector and US Law Enforcement. He also
served as Chief of Station in CIA’s flag ship locations in both East Asia and Latin America. While posted in Washington DC, he held positions as Chief of Operations for CIA’s Counter Intelligence Center and Chief of Operations for Latin America. Mr. Augustenborg’s eight foreign diplomatic postings included
locations in the former Soviet Union, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.


Prior to entering the CIA, Mr. Augustenborg was a Los Angeles Police Officer where he worked undercover within over in LAPD’s Public Disorder Intelligence Division, as well as served in multiple uniform Divisions, Public Affairs and Juvenile Division.


Mr. Augustenborg holds a BA Degree from the University of Southern California in International Relations and Social Studies, and a MA Degree from Pepperdine University in Public Communication. He also completed a year of study at University College, London England at the Center for International
Conflict Resolution. Mr. Augustenborg speaks Spanish and has a working knowledge of Russian, Italian and Hungarian.


A recipient of the CIA Career Intelligence Medal, Mr. Augustenborg chaired the CIA’s leadership and teamwork training program for high performance officers and served on numerous strategic planning and promotion boards for the Intelligence Community. He also worked closely with many foreign
intelligence and security services covering four continents where he provided training, operational assistance, logistical support and leadership for joint intelligence programs.


Since entering the private sector Mr. Augustenborg became a Senior Advisor at Starr Companies Global Insurance and Investments, as well as a Senior Advisor to Teneo global consulting services. He is the founder and current CEO of Novus Intelligence LLC. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the medical research and development firm Liberty BioSecurity as well as Senior Advisor to the Chairman of Medical Excellence Capital, LLC.


Mr. Augustenborg is married with four children and six grandchildren.

Gene has specialized in the investigation of allegations of behavioral and criminal misconduct for over 30 years. He is the founder and currently the Chief Executive of ForensicPathways, Inc. and frequently lectures and speaks on the topic of complex investigations involving allegations of harassment and discrimination, and all forms of workplace misconduct. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Justice School and a former Marine Corps Naval Aviator and combat flight instructor. He is board certified in both Human Resources Management (SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations) and Security Management (CPP designation).  He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Professional Certified Investigator (PCI).

Gene is a member of The Society of Human Resource Management, ASIS International, and the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado. He is the founder and former Chief Executive and Ethics Officer of Convercent, Inc., a Denver based global whistleblower hotline and compliance service provider currently serving clients in over 135 countries.

He is a licensed professional investigator and is the author of numerous books on various aspects of complex internal investigations and investigative interviewing in the private sector. Of his many books, You Can Find Anyone was his best seller and sold over 65,000 copies. He has competently testified as either a fact or expert witness in over 200 matters in the United States.

Brian brings more than 35 years of extraordinary, specialized security experience having served in senior leadership roles in both the public and private sectors. Of note, Brian spent 22 years with the U.S. Secret Service. In his final assignment with this world renown elite protective agency, he served as Special Agent in Charge of the New York Field Office where he was responsible for criminal investigations and directed security arrangements for numerous high-profile events and individuals, including the President of the United States, numerous Heads of State and Pope John Paul II.  After leaving his highly successful career with the Secret Service, Brian worked in several private sector industries . He served for eight years as Senior Executive Vice President for Security, Aviation, and Fleet Departments at MBNA America Bank. Following that role, he was the Executive Director of Global Security for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, then Senior Vice President & Chief Security Officer for New York Stock Exchange Euronext , and finally President of Andrews International Consulting, Investigations and International (CI&I) Division for the United States.

Brian brings to any assignment or organization his outstanding reputation, high degree of professionalism and an unparalleled depth of security-related knowledge on a global basis.

Steven holds a BS Degree from St. John’s University, College of Business Administration in Accounting and Economics and a MBA Degree from St. John’s University, Graduate School of Business with a specialization in taxation.

 

Memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), the NYSSCPA’s Business Valuation and Litigation Services Committee and the NYSSCPA’s Taxation of Mergers, Acquisitions, Dispositions and Other Business Transaction Committee. 

 

He is a Certified Public Accountant, a QuickBooks Certified Professional Advisor, a former President and Treasurer of the Old Field Club and a current board member of the Frank Melville Memorial Foundation.
